Death in the cell

A film by  Pagonis Pagonakis, Marcel Kolvenbach

Why did Oury Jalloh die?

Oury Jalloh, an asylum seeker from West Africa, dies in Dessau in police custody. “Death in the cell” tries to reconstruct the case, checks the official version of the alleged suicide and points out many unanswered questions.
“This cleverly researched film is not about sensation and quick conviction of those involved. Rather, the two authors took a year to investigate an almost unbelievable case.” Jury statement, German Human Rights Film Award
