The Rainmakers’ Empire
Uganda’s Rwenzori Mountains
The snow-capped Rwenzori mountain range on the border between Uganda and the Congo is one of the last bits of unchartered territory in Africa. Many explorers searched in vain for the highest mountains in Africa – not least because the “Mountains of Moon” are usually shrouded in clouds. Only in 1888, the mountain range was rediscovered after it had disappeared from explorers’ maps for more than a thousand years. Filmmaker Marcel Kolvenbach takes us on an adventurous journey to the top of the mysterious Mountains of the Moon.
